High Atlas Trekking
Late April to late June is the ideal time to trek , when alpine flowers will be in bloom
and daytime temperatures are pleasantly warm .
The circuit around Jebel Toubkal , passes through a variety of landcapes , ranging from
lush , cultivated valleys and Berber villages to forbidding peaks and bleak high passes .
This is a demanding trek , due to long , gruelling climbs and rocky terrain .
Day 1: Marrakech
Transfer from Marrakech Airport.
Day 02: Marrakech - IMLIL
Drive to Imlil : 1700 meters
Upon arrival , short walk through nut trees , before we organize our lunch on a plateau overlooking the valley , which we cross through traditional windmills, and villages built with local rocks : 04 hours walk duration .
Day 03: Ascent to AREMD followed by a stunning descent
At the foot of the mountains , the mules will be waiting for us for an interesting trek over the col TAMATERT ( 2279 meters ) to M'ZIK ( 1750 meters ) .
Fantastic views en route on the mountain OASIS of AREMD .
Duration : 05 to 08 hours walk .
Day 04: AREMD - NELTNER through SIDI CHAMHAROUCH : 2310 meters
Sidi Chamharouch , a holy saint village , very popular for whitchcrafts .
A long uphill day , walking to the TOUBKAL ( 3100 meters ) and our hut at NELTNER ( 3207 meters ).
05 to 06 hours walk duration.
Day 05: NELTNER - TOUBKAL SUMMIT : 4167 meters
This is the highest mountain in NORTH AFRICA , and with clear weather , the panoramic views from the summit are astonishing .
Depending on snow conditions , you may not be able to ascend to reach the top . Duration : 05 to 08 hours walk .
Day 06: NELTNER - TAZAHART - LEPINAY
This beautiful trek traverse and ascent of TIZIN'DAT ( 3600 meters ) , followed by a panoramic descent to LEPINAY hut.
Duration : 05 to 08 hours walk
Day 07: Descent to IMLIL , where our vehicles await us for a drive to MARRAKECH where we spend the overnight
Day 08: Transfer to MARRAKECH airport
